Stark County, OH — After a challenging year, Hollie Strano, the former WKYC Channel 3 TV meteorologist, has found a new home at Mix 94.1 radio. Strano, who was let go from the station in 2024 after a 22-year tenure, will now be delivering weather updates to the station’s listeners every morning.
From TV to Radio: Strano’s New Role
Strano, known for her Emmy-winning career and as a mental health advocate, will bring her meteorological expertise to Mix 94.1‘s morning lineup. According to the Canton station’s website, Strano blends science, storytelling, and soul in her forecasts, reaching a broader audience through her work.
“Hollie Strano is an Emmy-winning mental health advocate, seasoned television professional, and nationally recognized public figure with over two decades of on-air experience,” the station said.
Strano expressed her excitement about her new role on social media, saying, “Let’s do this Stark County! So much love for you, Canton! Thank you for having me!”

The Legal Battles and Personal Journey
Strano’s departure from WKYC was not without controversy. She was fired in September 2024, just months after she was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence in November 2023. Strano later pleaded guilty to the charge, but not without filing a lawsuit against her former employer.
In the lawsuit, Strano claimed that her firing was a direct result of her decision to share her alcoholism recovery journey on social media and to promote a product. The lawsuit details her battle against discrimination and public shaming after she became more open about her struggles.
Expanding Her Reach: Southern Radio Forecasting
In addition to her new role at Mix 94.1, Strano is continuing her work with southern radio stations. Last month, she announced that she would be doing forecasting for stations in Georgia and Alabama.
