Babb, Montana – The iconic Cattle Baron Supper Club, a longtime community landmark in Babb, was destroyed by a fire on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, according to information shared by the owner and local officials.
Owner Charlene Bird Burns posted images on social media showing the historic building fully engulfed in flames as the fire tore through the structure.
“We are losing the Cattle Baron this evening folks. Please lift us up in prayer,” Burns wrote.
Community Landmark Lost to Flames
The Cattle Baron Supper Club was widely known throughout Glacier County and surrounding areas, drawing both locals and visitors for decades. Residents described the restaurant as more than a business, calling it a central gathering place for the small community.
As of now, officials have not released any information regarding a possible cause of the fire that destroyed the restaurant.
Separate Early-Morning Fire Claims One Life
In a separate incident reported the same day, fire crews were dispatched just after 6 a.m. to reports of smoke and flames coming from a two-story home on Fifth Avenue.
Firefighters forced entry into the residence, extinguished the blaze, and located one victim inside the home. Authorities said the individual later died from their injuries. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

The cause of both fires remains under investigation. Officials say additional details will be shared as more information becomes available.
