High-Speed Chase Ends with Felon in Custody, Drugs and Firearm Confiscated

Nashville, TN – A convicted felon was arrested Thursday night after Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives reportedly observed him involved in hand-to-hand drug transactions.

Drug Transactions at Citgo Gas Station

Authorities identified the suspect as 33-year-old Roy Dean Frazier, who was allegedly participating in drug exchanges at the Citgo gas station on Dickerson Pike and Ewing Drive.

Police said Frazier sat in his Nissan Maxima at a gas pump for approximately 15 minutes, during which two individuals allegedly conducted illegal transactions with him.

Attempted Arrest and Police Chase

When officers attempted to stop Frazier after he left the gas station, he fled at high speeds, reportedly reaching over 90 mph.

Ground units initially pulled back while a police helicopter tracked Frazier. Detectives later deployed spike strips and successfully took him into custody.

Before his arrest, Frazier reportedly threw an item from his vehicle window into a nearby woodline. Police recovered a small black bag containing:

  • A loaded semi-automatic pistol
  • Cocaine
  • Several pill bottles
  • A digital scale

Additional pill bottles were also found inside his vehicle, as per WKRN.

Charges and Booking

Frazier, who has previous drug convictions, now faces charges including:

  • Possession of a gun as a felon
  • Evading arrest
  • Felony drug possession

He is currently being held at the Downtown Detention Center on a $124,000 bond.
