Gov. Malloy is directing the State Severe Cold Weather Protocol to be extended through March 1 as dangerously cold temperatures continue to impact Connecticut. We are expected to continue to have a pattern of low single-digit temperatures with nights near zero or sub-zero with the wind chill factor, especially in the northern part of the state.

The protocol, which has been in effect for several weeks now, activates a network of procedures among the relevant state agencies to ensure that the most vulnerable receive shelter from the cold.

If you know someone in need of shelter, call 2-1-1.
