THOUGHT AND POEM

Despite the snow we had the other day; we are still getting closer to those warmer days we have been looking forward to all winter. With the snow melting and the daylight hours staying around a little longer, many begin thinking about all their friends that they were not able to connect with in person because of the long hard winter we have all just endured. It is nice to be able to text and use the social networks during these times, but there is nothing better than being able to connect with our friends in …person.
Have you ever wondered if you fit the criteria for what it takes to be a true friend? It is good to examine this thought every now and then. Sometimes when we think we know someone so well we start to interject our thoughts when they talk, our feelings when they try to explain how they feel, and unfortunately, we may at times even block our ears when it is a life jacket they really need and we don’t hear their cries for help.
We are surrounded by people who need a friend. A true friend sees what you need and doesn’t say, “I hope you get it?” They do what they can to help, even if lending a listening ear is all they have to give.

The Fifteen Houses, a Novel
The Fifteen Houses is the first book of this new and exciting series to be published. Staged in the beautiful and scenic palate of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, in the early 1950’s, the main character delves into her reoccurring and discomforting memories of her younger, formative years. Searching for answers to questions that have resurfaced in her mind over and over again during her time away from her family, she seeks to find rhyme and reasons to her insecurities, anger, phobias, fears, and life’s choices. Julianne Marguerite, one of eleven children, is determined to uncover the “mystery” that resulted in the downfall of her family. As you turn the pages in the book, each series of memories, will open a different door, to the different homes, (“Fifteen” to be exact).
