NASSAU COUNTY, N.Y. – A surge in crime and the attack of a young boy mistakenly identified as a gang member prompted a major operation that led to the arrest of 42 alleged gang members in Nassau County.
Gang Members Arrested
The arrested individuals were members of notorious gangs such as MS-13, Trinitarios, and the 18th Street gang, with ages ranging from 18 to 50. These gangs have been terrorizing the Long Island area for years, involved in a wide range of illegal activities.
“They are engaged in illegal activity, including attempted murder, rape, and other felonies such as human trafficking of young girls,” said Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.
Four-Day Sweep and Weapon Seizures
Nassau County Police conducted a four-day sweep across the county, leading to a series of arrests. During the operation, authorities seized a variety of weapons, including machetes, guns, and knives, further dismantling the dangerous gangs operating in the area.
Blakeman’s Warning to Remaining Gang Members
While pleased with the success of the operation, Blakeman issued a stern warning to remaining gang members: “We want to send a clear message that gang activity will not be tolerated. You are not going to poison our children with your evil work and your evil doings here in Nassau County.”
Illegal Immigrants Among the Arrested
Two of the arrested gang members, who are in the United States illegally, will not be handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). They face serious criminal charges and will be prosecuted within the state as per Pix11.

Blakeman emphasized that the successful takedown of 42 gang members marks a major step in making Nassau County one of the safest counties in the country.
