Macon, GA – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office announced that four individuals were apprehended in connection with a theft by taking auto investigation following a chase earlier this week.
Vehicle Pursuit and Arrests
According to authorities, a Nissan Sentra reported missing on Friday was spotted at the Checker on Mercer University Drive. After a high-speed pursuit, deputies stopped the vehicle on Anthony Road.
During the incident, a woman fled from the car on Bailey Avenue and was quickly caught. Another passenger attempted to escape on Anthony Road but was also apprehended. The driver and an additional female passenger were arrested inside the vehicle.
Charges and Detainment
The 22-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center and face multiple charges, including:
- Felony theft by receiving stolen property
- Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- Willful obstruction of law enforcement officers
- Probation violation
Additionally, the 22-year-old was charged with felony fleeing and eluding a police officer. Both had bonds denied, according to the reports.
Injuries and Ongoing Investigation
The 18-year-old and 25-year-old women were taken to a local hospital after complaining of injuries.
