Four Arrested after Detroit Police Seize Guns, Drugs, and Cash

Detroit, Mich. – A drug bust at a home on Mapleridge Street in Detroit has led to the discovery of illegal guns, drugs, and cash. On Wednesday, August 20, the Detroit Police Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant in the 15000 block of Mapleridge Street, near an elementary-middle school.

Arrests and Seizures

Police confirmed that four people were arrested during the operation. As per Fox2Detroit, officers seized multiple firearms, narcotics, and cash from the home, including:

  • 51.6 grams of cocaine
  • 12.3 grams of fentanyl
  • 1.2 grams of heroin
  • 5 grams of methamphetamine
  • 14 pills
  • 8 firearms
  • $811 in cash

Street Value and Illegal Firearms

According to officials, the total street value of the seized drugs was estimated at $5,818. One of the confiscated guns was fitted with a “Glock switch” machine gun conversion device, making it capable of fully automatic fire. In addition, two ghost guns—firearms with no identifiable markings—were also recovered.

Community Concerns

Law enforcement emphasized that the bust’s proximity to a school heightened the seriousness of the situation. Police noted that removing both narcotics and high-powered weapons from circulation is essential for public safety in the area.

Community leaders have praised the Detroit Police Department for their continued efforts to combat gun violence and drug trafficking. They highlighted that operations like this not only protect children in nearby schools but also send a strong message that illegal firearms and drugs will not be tolerated in Detroit neighborhoods.
