Fort Gay, WV – A Fort Gay man is facing serious charges after law enforcement discovered illegal drugs and firearms during a search of his residence earlier this week. Authorities say the investigation underscores ongoing concerns about community safety near sensitive areas such as schools.
Search Warrant Executed
According to the Fort Gay Police Department, officers carried out a search warrant at the home of Wayne Fowler early Wednesday morning. The operation was conducted in collaboration with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department as part of a months-long investigation into suspected criminal activity.
During the search, officers reportedly seized a distribution amount of crack cocaine and methamphetamine, along with multiple weapons and several thousand rounds of ammunition.

Authorities highlighted that Fowler’s residence is located near a local school, which raised concerns about the potential threat to the community. Officials emphasized that removing these substances and weapons was critical to maintaining safety for nearby residents and students.
Arrest and Bond
