Mobile County, AL – Two individuals are in custody following a high-speed chase in south Mobile County on Monday that ended in a crash, authorities confirmed. The incident, which involved multiple law enforcement agencies, highlighted the dangers of fleeing from police at extreme speeds.
Pursuit Sparks After Federal Warrant
According to investigators, Jalyn Hall, of Irvington, Alabama, was driving a vehicle pursued by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) deputies, and U.S. Marshals. Hall reportedly attempted to evade officers because her vehicle carried a passenger with active federal warrants.
The passenger, Michael Lanzer, of Eight Mile, Alabama, was wanted on a federal warrant related to possession of amphetamine. Authorities confirmed that both Hall and Lanzer were arrested after the vehicle crashed, bringing the chase to an end.
Chase Reaches Dangerous Speeds
Police said the pursuit spanned multiple miles, stretching from Grand Bay to the area near Bayou La Batre, with speeds reportedly reaching 100 mph. The chase finally concluded when the vehicle collided at the intersection of Pine Springs and Half Mile roads.
Despite the dangerous conditions, no additional injuries were reported aside from those involved in the vehicle, according to authorities.
Charges Filed
Following the crash, Jalyn Hall was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail and faces felony charges for attempting to elude law enforcement as well as drug possession.
Michael Lanzer was also taken into custody and booked into the same facility. He faces felony probation violation charges in connection with his federal warrant. Officials noted that the charges stem from prior drug-related offenses, as per Fox10TV.
