Houston, TX – Five men have been arrested and charged in connection with a string of violent home invasion robberies across the Houston area, with investigators stating the suspects intentionally targeted Asian families.
According to court documents and statements from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, at least eight men are believed to be involved in a series of aggravated robberies and kidnappings, though only five have been taken into custody so far.
Suspects Arrested and Charged
The five suspects have been identified as:
- Kevin Alexander Parada, 21
- Roberto Guevara, 24
- William Alexander Flores, 23
- Miguel Angel Flores-Magana, 40
- Arturo Diaz Esparza, 24
Each of the men faces charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping, with authorities confirming they are believed to be part of an organized burglary ring.
The March 15 Home Invasion
The most revealing incident occurred on March 15, 2024, at a residence on Eldridge Valley Drive. Around 5 a.m., eight masked, gloved, and armed suspects allegedly ambushed a man in his garage as he was preparing to leave for work. They reportedly struck him in the head with a gun and forced their way inside the house.
Once inside, the attackers rounded up the man, his wife, and their child, forcing them to sit at the kitchen table while the home was ransacked. Court records, reviewed by Click2Houston, show that the group searched for valuables, demanding the homeowner open a safe. When he failed to comply, he was beaten again.
The suspects eventually made off with two safes, jewelry, and credit cards totaling about $4,000, and they locked the family in a closet before fleeing. Investigators say the suspects remained in the house for at least 45 minutes.
Pattern of Targeted Robberies
Following the March attack, Harris County deputies were contacted by law enforcement in Plano, Texas, who informed them of an active Houston-based burglary crew allegedly targeting Asian-American households.
A detective in Plano connected Houston authorities with a source who claimed to know at least one of the individuals involved.
This led to further revelations, including a February 2024 home invasion involving at least three of the now-arrested suspects. In that case, $170,000 was stolen after the men broke into the home and seized a safe.
Ongoing Investigation
While five arrests have been made, authorities emphasize that at least three more suspects remain at large. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate, coordinating with other law enforcement agencies across Texas to track down the remaining individuals.
Investigators believe the burglary ring strategically targeted Asian families, possibly based on perceived cultural norms related to keeping cash or valuables in the home.
Community Alert and Safety Concerns
Officials are urging the public—especially members of the Asian-American community—to remain vigilant. Residents are encouraged to install security systems, avoid predictable routines, and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges or federal involvement if further evidence of organized criminal activity emerges.
