Fentanyl Dealer Nabbed after 80 MPH Police Chase Through Milwaukee; Threw Drugs and Guns during Chase

Milwaukee, WI – A high-speed police chase in West Allis ended with the arrest of an alleged fentanyl dealer tied to a suspicious death earlier this week.

Deadly Discovery Sparks Investigation

On November 13, officers responded to a home near South 74th Street and West Walker Street after a man, born in 1985, was found dead. Authorities discovered a digital scale with tan residue and other drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Investigators revealed that the victim’s longtime girlfriend told police she and her partner had been obtaining fentanyl daily for six years from 29-year-old Daekwuan Walton, a Milwaukee resident. She was also taken into custody for her suspected involvement in supplying the fatal drugs.

Fleeing Suspect Leads Police on Chase

Later that day, law enforcement arranged a controlled buy near 39th Street and National Avenue. When Walton arrived, he refused to stop and led officers on a high-speed chase, reportedly reaching 80 mph while weaving through traffic before entering the interstate.

During the seven-minute pursuit, Walton allegedly threw drugs and a gun from his vehicle. Police eventually stopped Walton and recovered 11 phones, a small amount of fentanyl, and nearly $2,500 in cash. Walton admitted to discarding the gun but denied throwing drugs, claiming he was only present by coincidence.

Charges and Next Steps

Walton now faces multiple charges, including:

  • First-degree recklessly endangering safety
  • Maintaining a drug-trafficking place
  • Fleeing an officer

His bond was set at $15,000 cash, and he is scheduled to return to court next week for a preliminary hearing, as per Fox News.

Community Warning

Authorities urge residents to stay vigilant regarding drug-related activity in Milwaukee and surrounding areas. The incident highlights the ongoing dangers posed by fentanyl trafficking and its connection to fatal overdoses.
