Los Angeles, California – A seemingly routine housecleaning service in Los Angeles turned out to be part of a sophisticated burglary operation, according to authorities.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) reported that two women allegedly pretended to be cleaning service workers to gain access to homes across the San Fernando Valley, stealing luxury handbags, jewelry, and thousands of dollars in cash from unsuspecting residents.
Suspects Arrested After Multi-Agency Investigation
Detectives with the LAPD Commercial Crimes Division arrested 30-year-old Nikol Quiroga and 49-year-old Sandra Aguillon, both Colombian nationals, on September 30, 2025, following a multi-agency investigation that included the FBI and the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Searches of the suspects’ apartment and vehicles reportedly uncovered over $50,000 in cash, high-end handbags, jewelry, and an array of burglary tools such as Wi-Fi jammers, GPS trackers, stolen license plates, trail cameras, and cellphones, as per KTLA.
Part of a Larger Organized Crime Network
Investigators believe the women were operating as part of a larger transnational organized crime network targeting homes throughout the Valley. By creating fake profiles on a cleaning service app, the suspects were able to legitimately enter private residences under the guise of professional cleaners.
Both Nikol Quiroga and Sandra Aguillon were booked at Van Nuys Jail on charges of grand theft, according to police records. Authorities continue to investigate additional suspects or potential victims linked to the operation.
