Fairmont, WV – A 26-year-old man was arrested Monday after deputies uncovered pounds of marijuana, psychedelic mushrooms, and hundreds of THC vapes during a home confinement check in Marion County, authorities said.
Arrest Follows Home Confinement Check
Brandon Harding, 26, was taken into custody after deputies conducted a routine home check as part of his current confinement. The investigation, led by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, revealed a significant quantity of illegal substances stored in the residence.
Drugs and Cash Seized
Deputies reported seizing:
- 3.5 pounds of marijuana
- 2.5 ounces of psychedelic mushrooms
- Hundreds of THC vapes
- $2,290 in cash
Officials estimated the street value of the drugs at approximately $16,764, highlighting the seriousness of the operation.
Sheriff Roger Cunningham emphasized the importance of the arrest, stating, “We’re here to make sure our citizens in Marion County are safe and that our children aren’t getting any type of drugs sold to them.”
Charges and Jail Status
Harding has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession with intent to deliver mushrooms. He is currently being held at the North Central Regional Jail, with bond set at $175,000.
Authorities indicated that the investigation is ongoing and that Harding could face additional charges if further evidence emerges.
