Eight Bethel High School Students Are Accepted for Western Region High School Honors Festival
Connecticut’s outstanding elementary, middle, and high school musicians are in for a treat in the next few months, as the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) sponsors a variety of honors festivals. Honors festivals give students an opportunity to work with a larger group of peers at a higher performance level than can be accomplished in many school buildings. They also give students an opportunity to work with distinguished conductors. The CMEA provides programs and activities for music educators, students and future music educators striving to enhance the quality of music education for all children.
Music auditions for the Western Region High School Festival were held by the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) this past Saturday, November 19, 2016, at the Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk, CT, for high school students of band and string instruments, and vocals. This is an exciting audition that tests the skills of young musicians and they can possibly go on to perform in the prestigious Western Region High School Festival if they do well at audition.
Bethel High School students accepted for the honors festival are:
Gia Antolini, BHS Junior – Orchestra/Violin
Anna Harovas, BHS Sophomore – Choir/Vocalist
Sophia Harovas, BHS Sophomore – Choir/Vocalist

John Mattera, BHS Junior – Band/Saxophone
Jillian Paulin, BHS Sophomore – Orchestra/Viola
