Report by Paula Antolini, July 5, 2019, 9:13AM EDT

At 2:56am this morning, both Brookfield Fire Companies were dispatched for a reported boat on fire in the area of the Brookfield Bay Marina.

Candlewood’s Engine 21 was first due to the scene and gave a report of a fully involved boat fire with exposures to surrounding vessels. Engine 22 responded to the area of North Lake Shore Drive and both crews began the fire attack from both sides of the cove. Engine 22 was assisted by Engine 4 and a tanker from the BVFC. The boat was secured near North Lake Shore Drive and extinguished.

New Fairfield responded for mutual aid, Danbury was contacted for additional Hazmat resources, and DEEP was called for the hazmat situation on the lake. Fire units were clear at approximately 5:00am. There were no reported injuries.
