ASCENSION PARISH, La. – Three men were arrested following an investigation into a large-scale drug distribution network in Ascension Parish, according to the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Arrests and Search Warrants

On Wednesday, August 20, authorities arrested Yezzun Adel Ammuri, Omar Adel Ammuri, and Saleh K. Alkhativ on a range of drug-related charges. The arrests came after detectives executed four search warrants on August 19 at the following locations:

  • Almighty Storage in Prairieville
  • Diganja Smoke Shop in Geismar
  • An apartment on Dutchtown Point Avenue in Gonzales
  • A residence on Oak Run Drive in Geismar

During the searches, deputies seized marijuana, cocaine, THC vape products, kratom, psilocybin mushrooms, prescription drugs, and other controlled substances. They also recovered two firearms, one of which had been reported stolen, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Dangers of Community Drug Networks

Drug trafficking operations like the Ammuri network present substantial risks to local communities. The presence of illicit substances such as psilocybin, fentanyl analogs, and Adderall outside of regulated medical channels raises serious public health concerns. The illegal firearms found alongside drugs also increase the risk of violence tied to distribution and protection of criminal enterprises.

Law Enforcement Crackdown and Prevention Efforts

The Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with state agencies, continues to crack down on drug rings operating in the region. Multi-agency investigations, surveillance, and aggressive enforcement remain key strategies in curbing these networks.

Authorities encourage the public to report suspicious activity and remain vigilant, as local tips often lead to major busts like this one.
