Dover, DE — The Dover Police Department is actively searching for 24-year-old Aaliyah Graves, who is wanted in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed 62-year-old Barbara Benson on August 31.

What We Know

Officers responded to the 200 block of North DuPont Highway just before 3 a.m. on Aug. 31, after receiving reports that a car had struck a person. When they arrived, they found Barbara Benson lying on the road.

Investigators later determined that a black 2001 Toyota Avalon was traveling southbound in the right lane when it struck Benson. The car did not stop after the crash, fleeing the scene.

“We have identified Aaliyah Graves as the alleged driver,” said the Dover Police Department in a statement.

The car involved in the incident was later located in Worton, MD, though Graves remains at large.
