Cultural Alliance of Western CT Opening, Year’s First Visual Art Show, “The Impact Arts Collection with Works by Frank Kara,” Jan. 29
The Impact Arts Collection with works by Frank Kara
AT @287 GALLERY & MEETING PLACE ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 29TH
“Effective is the most useful, unsexy word I can come up with to describe what I think art, at its best, can be.”
– artist & writer Nanette Vonnegut
Effective. Not a word normally heard at a non-profit brainstorming session. “But it should be,” says Lisa Scails, Executive Director of the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut. Entering a new year, the Cultural Alliance’s staff and Board have stepped back to assess the organization’s accomplishments, then map a 2016 calendar that reflects what the Cultural Alliance does best, how each program serves its stakeholders, and what is most effective in meeting current goals, always keeping in mind intent: Living Creatively & Energizing the Economy. “The exhibition kicking off our upcoming year at @287 Gallery & Meeting Place will mark the beginning of a countdown to a big celebration. Stay tuned,” she adds.
