Ridgewood, NJ – Authorities in Bergen County are investigating an attempted luring of a child that occurred on Ellington Road in Ridgewood Sunday morning, police confirmed.
Incident Details: Candy Offered to Child
According to the Ridgewood Police Department, the incident took place at approximately 11:29 a.m. when a man stopped in front of a home on Ellington Road.
Police said the suspect offered candy to a child who was playing in the front yard. The child was not harmed, and the incident was interrupted when an adult from the home made their presence known, prompting the suspect to flee the scene.
Suspect Fled Before Police Arrival
Patrol units responded to the area within minutes of the report but were unable to locate the suspect or their vehicle. The investigation into the attempted luring remains active, and police are working to identify and apprehend the individual.
