Parker County, TX – A tragic car crash Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of an 82-year-old Minnesota woman, while another occupant was hospitalized, authorities said.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred around 4:40 p.m. on Tucker Drive, just north of Deer Track Road. A witness reported that the driver of a 1996 Ford Bronco, identified as Karen Winegarner, 61, of Weatherford, appeared to slump over while driving, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and collide with a tree.
The passenger, Carolyn Otto, 82, of Lakeville, Minnesota, was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead, according to DPS. Winegarner was taken to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth with injuries that are still being evaluated.
