Camden, NJ – Authorities have arrested three family members in connection with the shooting and dismemberment of 48-year-old Harold Miller, officials said. The gruesome case involved a chainsaw and multiple attempts to destroy evidence, shocking the local community.
Arrests and Charges
Everton Thomas, 41, along with his 41-year-old wife, Sherrie Parker, and 22-year-old son, Deshawn Thomas, face multiple charges, including:
- First-degree murder (Everton Thomas)
- Desecration of human remains
- Tampering with evidence
Miller was first reported missing in June 2025, after last being seen in Camden playing cards with friends. His empty vehicle was later discovered on June 14 in Pennsauken, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.
Investigation Details
Detectives used surveillance video and cellphone data to trace Miller’s movements. He was last seen entering a home on Baird Boulevard on June 12. Moments later, a single gunshot was heard on video, and Miller was never seen leaving the property again.
Authorities allege that Sherrie Parker and Deshawn Thomas purchased a chainsaw, cleaning supplies, containers, and trash bags, which were brought to the residence. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Everton Thomas and his son making multiple trips to the Tamarack Apartments dumpsters to dispose of containers before driving away.
Additionally as per WAFB, Everton Thomas allegedly moved Miller’s vehicle to the location where it was later recovered in Pennsauken.
Evidence Found in Thomas Home
A June 20 search of Everton Thomas’ home uncovered a loaded firearm with one round in the chamber and bloodstains later matched to Miller’s DNA. Everton Thomas fled the U.S. to Canada the following day.
Apprehension of Suspects
All three suspects were formally charged on September 5. Parker and Deshawn Thomas were arrested on September 8, while Everton Thomas was taken into custody after reentering the U.S. on a commercial bus later that day.

The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the investigation into Miller’s murder and the alleged dismemberment remains ongoing. Authorities continue to review surveillance footage, forensic evidence, and witness statements.
