Today we have another wonderful written piece from Jeanne Claire Probst, in our continuing literary series. We are thrilled to have author/poet/blogger Jeanne Claire Probst join Bethel Advocate as a contributor, sharing her “Thought and Poem” written works with us. Her work covers many topics. THOUGHT AND POEM

It is a known fact that I do NOT like bugs. I don’t think they are “interesting” to look and I especially do not like it when one lands on me or crawls on the walls or floors anywhere I am!
Still there are those who like to study them and find out all they can about each species. We have learn a lot from what these Entomologists have documented over the years about their observances and because of this, we have been able to improve in technology that helped to make like a little better for many.
I know that bugs have their place in the grand purpose of life and as part of this grand purpose they aid in supplying what is necessary for humans to continue to exist on this earth. All I can say is, “Thank you very much,” and I want all people to know I do not go out of my way to find them and kill them… I just ask that they stay away from me!

Bugs can be interesting to observe…
Should you have the nerve…
And actually there are people who get excited and bugs don’t bother them…
And they go looking for these slimy, creeping, crawling things so they can study them.
They document all they see;
What they eat and how they breed…
Then they give what they find their full attention…
To see if there is something else we can learn from watching them.
Buy FYI, I am NOT one that will ever join this group…
I do not like bugs and I don’t care what they do…
I don’t go out of my way to look for them…
And if they land on me one of us is going to end up DEAD!
So to keep my heart at a regular beat
The bugs better stay away from me
And go to those people who are intrigued by them
So they can observe these over and over again!

The Fifteen Houses, a Novel
The Fifteen Houses is the first book of this new and exciting series to be published. Staged in the beautiful and scenic palate of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts, in the early 1950’s, the main character delves into her reoccurring and discomforting memories of her younger, formative years. Searching for answers to questions that have resurfaced in her mind over and over again during her time away from her family, she seeks to find rhyme and reasons to her insecurities, anger, phobias, fears, and life’s choices. Julianne Marguerite, one of eleven children, is determined to uncover the “mystery” that resulted in the downfall of her family. As you turn the pages in the book, each series of memories, will open a different door, to the different homes, (“Fifteen” to be exact).

Jeanne Claire Probst was born and raised in the New England state of Massachusetts, is retired an lives in Ludlow. She is excited to be fulfilling a life-long dream of writing a novel of which “The Fifteen Houses, a Novel” is her first published work.
