BRTC Chair Calls for Recall Provision in State Constitution / Letter to the Editor from Bill Hillman

 

The latest failure of Malloy and his incompetent cadre of Democrats in the state legislator, led by union-stooge Joe “AtoZ” (education coordinator with AFSCME) has produced a mass “Weapon of Law”, A.K.A. the “budget”.

 

Shifting devastating tax burdens to local towns and homeowners, while ignoring and delaying consideration of the Republican plan for Connecticut; this negligent and abject failure prompts and demands several actions:

 

Call the Governor at (860) 566-4840 and demand he restore local State aid, and related funding to save our schools from massive layoffs. Insist he open state contracts by an emergency executive order, and that Republican pension reforms must be brought to full consideration and enacted. Remind him that Connecticut has a SPENDING problem, and that can’t be solved with higher taxes, tolls or cost-shifting.

 

But there’s more. Tell our legislators that our State Constitution be amended to allow for a process to recall an incompetent and negligent Governor from office, be it a people’s petition or legislative vote of no confidence. It’s time that elected officials be held accountable, even mid-term.
