BREAKING NEWS: One Person is Dead and 19 Injured a Car Plows Into Crowd at ‘Unite to Right” Protest Rally in VA

CHARLOTTESVILLE — One person is dead and 19 injured on Saturday, August 12,2017, as a silver Dodge Charger car plowed into a crowd of peaceful protestors in a “Unite the Right” rally near Emancipation Park in Charlottesville, VA.  The protest was deemed “unlawful assembly” by officials, USA Today reports.

The rally had been shut down due to problems between alt-right demonstrators, counter-protesters, white nationalists, neo-Nazis and supporters of Black Lives Matter, after bottle-throwing incidents, USA Today reports.

Twenty patients were taken to he University of Virginia Medical Center, and one died.  Condition of other 19 patients not known, said Angela Taylor, a public information officer there, according to USA Today.
