Message from Bethel Public Schools:

Dear Parents Guardians and Staff,

We are lucky enough to take advantage of a program being offered through the State of Connecticut to provide meals to all Bethel Public School children during school closures as a result of COVID 19. Starting Wednesday, March 18th and until schools re-open, we will be providing a “grab and go” lunch and breakfast at Berry School in the back parking lot. This program is offered to all children enrolled in the Bethel Public Schools and their siblings age 18 and under. There is no charge for these meals. This program will be offered Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

This is how the program will work. Two tables will be set up outside of the back door at Berry, one for breakfast, one for lunch. Milk will be available in a cooler with ice. Parents can drive up to the area, get out of the car, get breakfast and lunch and give us the student(s) name(s). We will check off the children(s) names on a school roster to verify enrollment.

We would like to thank our Food Service Director Amanda Riley and Sodexo, our food service management company for their role in assisting in the completion of all necessary paperwork and the organization of the program. Additionally, I would like to thank our amazing cafeteria staff for their willingness to support the program.

I will be sending a separate email later today with other updates. If you have any additional questions, or if your child has special dietary needs, please do not hesitate to contact Amanda Riley at [email protected] or at 203-794-8722.

SIncerely,

Christine L. Carver, Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
