Bethel Public Schools on Early Dismissal Schedule Tomorrow Due to High Temperatures Forecast
Message from Bethel Public Schools:
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
I’ll start with the good news, the heat is supposed to break by Friday. But while we have tried to manage, the accumulated heat within the buildings has brought the temperature of rooms without air conditioning to an unhealthy level by late today. The temperatures tomorrow are supposed to be close to 100 degrees, and a heat advisory has been issued. Our limited amount of air conditioning has also created electrical issues due to over capacity, creating an inability to run the air conditioners in some of the spaces. Therefore, we have no choice but to call an early dismissal for all schools for inclement weather tomorrow, Thursday, September 6, 2018.
The early dismissal schedule for inclement weather is:
BHS 10:50 AM
BMS & JS 11:20 AM
Berry/Rockwell 12:15 PM
NO PM COF
While we would like to keep our air conditioned schools in session, bus schedules make it impossible.
All afterschool activities are cancelled, unless run in an air conditioned space. Sports practices will be moved till evening. Coaches will communicate any changes in practice schedules and/or scrimmages to athletes and families.
The Park & Recreation After School Care Program is also canceled tomorrow.
