Due to the National Weather Advisory, the Bethel Public Schools will be on a regular early dismissal schedule today, Friday, December 22, 2017.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Freezing rain expected. The ice will result in very
  slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including
  during the evening commute. Total ice accumulations of a light
  glaze are expected.

* WHERE...In Connecticut, Northern Fairfield County. In New York,
   Orange and Putnam Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 PM this afternoon to midnight EST tonight.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation will likely start as light
  snow and sleet toward midday, before transitioning to light
  freezing rain by evening. A few tenths of an inch of snow and
  sleet accumulation are possible before the transition to
  freezing rain.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
Slow down and use caution while driving. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.
