Bethel Police Warn of Multiple Motor Vehicle Thefts from Residences and Business Parking Lots in Bethel and Newtown

Message from the Bethel Police Department:

Beginning at 0750 am there have been multiple motor vehicles stolen from residences and business parking lots in Bethel and Newtown. Please ensure that your motor vehicles are locked and that any key fobs are within a safe distance from your vehicles. Should you have video surveillance footage of any potentially related activity, or should you observe any suspicious activity/persons, please contact the Bethel Police Department and do not confront any individuals.

2nd police press release:

On 10/09/2020, starting at approximately 7:30AM, the Bethel Police Department started receiving calls about vehicles being stolen from residences and vehicles that had been rummaged through. At about the same time, an additional vehicle was stolen from the Dodgingtown Market in Newtown, which is just over the Bethel / Newtown border. All of the stolen vehicles had been left unlocked. Numerous Officers saturated the area in attempts to locate the vehicles and suspects, however after an extensive search the suspects could not be located.
