The Bethel Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christine Carver notified parents on Oct. 3 about a new free “app” the Bethel Police Department now has in place, that has many features parents and the community will find important regarding school safety and security and other concerns.

You can download this free “app” and report issues or concerns directly from you iPhone or iPad, with photos. There are also other useful links for community resources, crime prevention, and online reporting. It is suggested that parents, community member and caregivers download this “app” to their mobile devices in order to access the numerous important features.

The “app” has a link where a parent can click on their child’s school and access the contact information for the School Resource Officer (SRO) where you can also call or email the SRO directly. You can also send the SRO anonymous tips via this link too.

You can call the police department directly via this “app,” make reports or anonymous reports, create inventory of your valuables, press releases and more.

Dr. Carver praised the Bethel Police Department for playing an active role in keeping our schools and community safe. “The Bethel Police Department has always been a phenomenal partner of the Bethel Public Schools. The partnership extends beyond our School Resource Officer Program and includes participation on our safety committees; conducting vulnerability assessments; and table top drills. Our collaborative goal is to ensure that our students and staff are safe,” said Carver.

You can download the free “app” on iTunes here.
