An arrest warrant was obtained after a joint investigation was conducted by the Bethel Police, Bethel Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Unit.

Bethel Police Arrest Man for Arson Fire, Insurance Fraud, in Own Home

The Bethel Police served an active arrest warrant on William Waller, 61, for Arson 1st degree and Insurance Fraud stemming from a fire that occurred at his residence, 33 Putnam Park Road, Bethel, CT, back in January of 2014.

An arrest warrant was obtained after a joint investigation was conducted by the Bethel Police, Bethel Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Unit.

Police believe that Waller intentionally set the fire in order to defraud the insurance company.  He was arrested in Danbury and brought to Bethel PDHQ for processing.

He was held for arraignment on a $250,000 court set bond.  He was arraigned on May 26, 2016 at Danbury Superior Court.
