Bethel High School World Language Department Needs Host Families for Exchange Student Program with Spain This Summer, June 29-July 22

Dear Parents and Caregivers:
It’s time to sign up to host! The Bethel High School World Language Department will be participating in an Exchange Program with Spain this summer and we are currently looking for families to take advantage of this culturally enriching and life-changing opportunity by hosting this summer!
The Spanish teenagers will be here from June 29-July 22. Host families receive $400 for hosting. The teens will have activities each day from 9-3 and other days from 9-5. For working parents, drop off and pick up help is available when needed. They would be with the host family in the evenings and on 2 weekends (July 4th & July 18th).
We are specifically looking for families that have teens 14-18 years old who can provide a bed for the student (individual rooms are not necessary). Students will be matched by interests and age. If families have a vacation planned during part of the hosting period, we can find alternative housing for the student during the vacation.
Last year was our first year hosting and it turned out to be a wonderful experience for the Spanish and Bethel participants. We even have 5 Bethel students who will go to Spain this summer to stay with the student they hosted last summer! Life-long connections were made by all that participated.
Below you will find a tentative hosting schedule, which includes dates and activities planned.
Also below, please find a list of students who are in need of host families.
Boys:
Gabriel, age 15, social, likes playing the drums, music and kayaking
Enrique S, age 16: Great soccer player and is a huge fan of soccer.
Ignacio, age 16: always smiling, 1st time abroad
Carlos H, age 16: very social, loves soccer, loves computers, black belt in judo
Enrique R, age 16: loves judo, tall and strong kid, a bit shy
Carlos C, age 16: loves music,movies, running, very cultured and kind, lived in London with his family 7 months.
Diego, age 16: loves sports, playing computer games (PS4), being active
Marino, age 16, enjoys sports, nice personality, a bit shy and allergic to dogs
Alvaro, age 17, likes sports and music, nice kid
Girls:
Cristina, age 14-outgoing, loves theatre, shopping, movies
Maria, age 14-very sweet, excellent English, plays drums, swims, likes movies,lived in London 6 months with her family
Carmen A, age 15-very funny, likes sports and music, lived with family last year in Canada
Carmen C, age 15-sweet girl, a bit quiet, stayed in Canada last summer
Angela, age 16-relaxed, loves dancing and is very social
Arantxa, age 17-runner, social, loves shopping and having fun
Paula F, age 17-sweet girl, came to Bethel last year, kind, social, laughs a lot
Clara, age 17-very social, loves reading, dancing, very kind
