OPINION / LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Bethel resident Bill Ochs says, “The current leadership running the town I love and raise my family in has a severe spending problem!!” Read his letter below.

Dear Editor,

I am writing to you today as a lifelong Town of Bethel resident with 2 school age kids in the Bethel school system. I have spoken out against this outrageous Bethel budget at every meeting held, we the taxpayers are getting crushed by yearly increases on our houses that are losing value or holding stagnate.

My taxes were lower, and my home was worth more just 8 years ago. The current leadership running the town I love and raise my family in has a severe spending problem!! This has gone unchecked for too long and must be fixed. I personally will do all I can to control spending, so that it aligns with the grand list and incoming tax rolls. This will allow Bethel to put forth a balanced budget like our neighboring Town of Danbury has under the guidance of Mayor Mark’s great leadership.

I hope all my fellow residents in Bethel exercise their Constitutional Right to Vote and send this budget back for additional cuts. Please VOTE NO !!! on Thursday April 11th to this incredibly large and inflated Town Budget.

Thank You,

Bill Ochs

Bethel, CT
