Message from Bethel Public Schools Superintendent Christine Carver, Feb. 13, 2015:
Last evening, the Bethel Board of Education approved the 2015-2016 budget to reflect a 2.97% increase over last year’s budget. The overall budget reflects an increase that will allow for the continuation of current programs and the address areas of continuous growth. The Board of Education budget will be presented to the Bethel Board of Finance and Selectman on February 19th at 7 PM in the Municipal Center, Conference Room A. Please come and show your support!
I have set up information sessions for parents in the coming months to present the budget to enhance your understanding and answer any questions or concerns you might have. The Bethel School District recognizes the important connection between student success and family engagement. The District’s Parent University was established two years ago to increase parent engagement in schools and to contribute to the academic and social-emotional success of our school children. The goals of Parent University include: providing support for families so they may achieve personal academic and non-academic goals; providing parents and families with the necessary resources to support their children’s emotional growth and development; and increasing the number of parents who feel positively connected to their child’s school. This year’s Parent University will be on February 25th at 6:30 at Bethel Middle School. You can review course selections and register at the following links:
