Burbank, IL — An early morning ATM burglary at a food and liquor store in Burbank led to a police chase on Friday, according to the Burbank Police Department.
Burglary Reported Before Dawn
Authorities said officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of West 83rd Street, near Cicero Avenue, just before 5:30 a.m., after reports of a break-in at Burbank Food and Liquor, located at the busy intersection of 83rd and Cicero Avenue in Chicago’s southwest suburbs.
When officers arrived, they discovered the store’s glass door shattered and burglary tools scattered across the floor, but the suspects had already fled the scene, as per CBS News.
Surveillance Video Captures the Crime
Store surveillance footage reviewed by investigators shows a group of masked thieves forcing their way inside and targeting the ATM machine near the front of the store.
The video also shows the suspects loading the cash machine and tools into a vehicle parked outside before speeding off. Inside footage later captured police entering with guns drawn as they began their search.
Police Pursue Suspects
As officers arrived, the suspects reportedly drove away, prompting a police chase through nearby streets. However, officials have not yet confirmed how long the pursuit lasted or in which direction the suspects fled.
Police said the suspects managed to escape, and no arrests have been made at this time. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among officers or civilians during the incident.

The Burbank Police Department confirmed that detectives are actively investigating the burglary, reviewing security footage from nearby businesses and traffic cameras in hopes of identifying the suspect vehicle and those involved.
