Ashburn, VA – A weeks-long drug investigation by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) led to the arrest of 39-year-old James Lamarr McTillman and the seizure of a large cache of illegal drugs, firearms, and cash, authorities said.
Investigation and Arrest
The LCSO Drug and Gang Unit (DGU) began investigating McTillman after receiving tips about his involvement in distributing powder and crack cocaine in the Ashburn area. On September 19, McTillman was arrested and found with approximately 1.5 ounces of powder cocaine.
He is currently being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on one count of Distribution of a Controlled Substance, with additional charges pending.
Search Warrants and Seizures
Following the arrest, LCSO’s Tactical Support Unit (TSU) executed search warrants at two Ashburn locations, uncovering:
- 5.73 kilograms of crack cocaine
- 0.18 kilograms of powder cocaine
- 18.35 pounds of marijuana
- 1 pound of psilocybin mushrooms
- 150 suspected fentanyl pills
- 10–15 ounces of liquid PCP
- $4,418 in cash, three firearms, ammunition, a silencer, and materials consistent with a robbery kit

“The scope of this seizure underscores the serious threat posed by regional and national drug distribution networks. We will stop at nothing to dismantle any drug trafficking operation that sets up shop in Loudoun County,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman as per WJLA.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation remains active, with detectives working closely with the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney and federal authorities to address broader implications of the drug trafficking network in the region.
