Armed Kentucky Teen Arrested After Sewer Drain Standoff in Montgomery County, Police Say

Washington Township, OH — An 18-year-old Kentucky man was arrested Monday morning after being found hiding in a sewer drain during an intense police search in southern Montgomery County, according to authorities.

High-Speed Chase Ends in Crash

Police identified the suspect as Trevor Walker. According to WHIO News, Springboro officers first spotted a stolen white Toyota Sienna on State Route 741 near Pennyroyal Road. When an officer attempted a traffic stop, Walker sped away, sparking a high-speed chase.

The pursuit continued onto Interstate 675, before exiting onto State Route 725. The chase ended in a crash at SR 725 and Paragon Road, where Walker jumped out and fled on foot.

There was also a female passenger, believed to be a juvenile, who was taken into custody and treated for injuries. Both Walker and the passenger had been reported missing from Kentucky.

Shelter-in-Place and Armed Robbery Connection

During the search, authorities issued a shelter-in-place advisory after discovering ammunition and firearms in the stolen vehicle. Police later learned Walker had allegedly been involved in recent armed robberies.

WKYT, a CBS affiliate in Kentucky, confirmed with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office that Walker had broken into a home in Franklin County overnight.

Authorities highlighted two major public safety risks during the incident:

  • Armed suspect linked to aggravated robbery and stolen firearms
  • Dangerous high-speed pursuit reaching 100 mph on Interstate 75

“This is about as dangerous as you get,” said Major Jeremy Roy, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office chief of staff. “Number one, we have somebody that went into a house and did an aggravated robbery; they stole guns. I don’t know how many people’s lives they put on [the] line coming up 75 at 100 miles per hour.”

SWAT and K9 Locate Suspect in Sewer

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team, assisted by K9 units, combed the neighborhood. A six-man squad eventually located Walker in a sewer drain.

“He was soaked,” Roy said. “He was in probably three feet of water down there.”

News Center 7 cameras captured Walker being escorted into the back of a Springboro police cruiser, followed by at least a dozen officers, deputies, and SWAT members.

Residents Caught Off Guard

The large-scale search left many local residents stunned.

“It’s not something you see every day, that’s for sure,” said Scott Sherman of Washington Township.

For parents, the arrest brought relief, especially with school starting soon.

“Especially with school starting in two days,” said Jeskika Beebe, of Washington Township. “I even told my husband, our youngest will go to that school right here on Paragon. I was like, ‘She would have been scared.’”

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have not yet released details on the specific charges Walker will face in Ohio, but his connection to armed robberies in Kentucky is under active investigation. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is working with Kentucky law enforcement to coordinate the next steps.
