Macomb County, MI – A 16-year-old boy from Armada Township tragically died after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle Friday morning, September 12, 2025, authorities reported.
Crash Details
The crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Armada Ridge Road near True Road in Armada Township. According to the Michigan State Police, a 66-year-old man from Memphis was driving westbound and attempting to pass another vehicle when he struck the teen on his bicycle.
The teen was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries, according to reports. Authorities confirmed no other injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
Victim and School Response
The teen was a sophomore at the local high school in the Armada Area Schools district. In response to the tragic news, the school implemented a crisis response plan to help students and staff cope.
Superintendent Michael Musary addressed parents in a letter:
“If you feel your child is having difficulty and may benefit from additional support, please contact CARE of SE Michigan at (586) 541-2273. You may also call the Macomb County Crisis Center at (586) 307-9100 or contact your child’s school counselor or myself, so the school can be made aware of your child’s needs. Local mental health professionals also support us and a referral list can be provided. As the entire school community continues to cope with the loss, we will make every effort to help you and your child as you need.”
