Grandview, MO – A Grandview man has been arrested after authorities discovered nearly 4 lbs. of cocaine, multiple firearms, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash during a search of his home, police said.
Arrest and Charges
Dewayne C. Clarke, 47, faces multiple charges including:
- Trafficking drugs
- Unlawful possession of a firearm
- Five counts of delivery of a controlled substance
If convicted on all seven charges, Clarke could face up to 75 years in prison under Missouri law.
Clarke is currently behind bars on a $500,000 bond, with a bond review scheduled for Oct. 1 and a preliminary hearing set for Oct. 20.
Controlled Purchases Lead to Investigation
According to the Jackson County Drug Task Force, a confidential informant reported in July that Clarke was distributing large amounts of crack cocaine. This led to several controlled purchases between August 6 and September 17, including:
- Aug. 6: 12.9 grams of crack cocaine for $350
- Aug. 21: 15.1 grams of crack cocaine for $350
- Aug. 26: 26.6 grams of crack cocaine for $650
- Sept. 3: 26 grams of crack cocaine for $650
- Sept. 17: 23.8 grams of crack cocaine for $650 and 5 fentanyl M-30 pills for $100
During these purchases, investigators noted that Clarke used different rental vehicles, including a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer not due back until Sept. 27.
Search Warrant and Seizures
A search warrant was executed at Clarke’s home on Sept. 19, revealing:
- 5 firearms and several magazines
- Ammunition
- Nearly 4 lbs. of cocaine
- More than 0.5 lbs. of marijuana
- 5.4 grams of methamphetamine
- Drug paraphernalia
- $63,174.68 in U.S. currency
Clarke admitted to authorities that he acquired the cocaine as an “opportunity.”
Additional Details
Investigators also revealed that Clarke, a convicted felon, had offered to sell a firearm to the confidential informant, a transaction he was prohibited from conducting by law.
Court records were filed on Friday, Sept. 19, as reported by KCTV5. Clarke remains in custody pending upcoming court proceedings.
