Albany, New York — Two Albany residents are facing multiple felony charges after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs, paraphernalia, and high-capacity firearm magazines, according to Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple.
Traffic Stop Turns Into Drug and Weapons Seizure
On Saturday, November 1, 2025, around 6:16 p.m., Albany County Sheriff’s Deputies were conducting patrols in the city of Albany when they pulled over a vehicle on Myrtle Avenue near Phillip Street.
During the stop, deputies discovered 42-year-old Jason D. Longmire and 31-year-old Shanavia I. McNeal inside the vehicle. A search revealed a quantity of cocaine, two digital scales, packaging materials, and two 30-round large-capacity ammunition feeding devices designed for a Glock handgun.
Authorities say the scales and packaging materials are consistent with items commonly used for narcotics distribution, prompting officers to take both individuals into custody.
Charges Filed Against the Suspects
Following the investigation, both Longmire and McNeal were booked on multiple charges, including several felony drug and weapon offenses, as per CBS Albany.

Suspects Await Court Appearance
According to authorities, Longmire and McNeal were both transported to Albany County Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.
Sheriff Craig Apple commended the deputies for their alertness and professionalism during the stop, noting that the seizure of both illegal narcotics and firearm accessories helps reduce the risk of violent crime in the community.
