A “Vigil for Compassion and Human Rights for All” Planned for Danbury Area, Dec.1st
A vigil is planned for Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., to take place in front of the City of Danbury Public Library, 170 Main Street in Danbury, CT, to show “solidarity.” There are 689 people invited so far but it is open to all who wish to attend.
According to the event organizers, Will Love and Justin Molito, they are “A group of like minded individuals from the greater Danbury area have joined together against hate. For many of us, this election cycle has been polarizing and many of the marginalized communities in the area do not feel safe. We are coming together, in solidarity, to show Danbury and our neighboring communities that hate is not representative of who we are. This vigil, is a nonpartisan event and welcome to those who wish to join us.”
Will Love also sent this message on behalf of himself and Justin Molita, to Bethel Advocate, “We are a group of concerned residents, who spontaneously came together, like many people around the nation. We did this in order to send a message, that Greater Danbury is a community of compassion, like many around the country. That we respect people, from all walks life and will not stand for an atmosphere of division resulting from the recent election. We are organizing this event to highlight our concerns and are reaching out to local officials to have a peaceful vigil.”
