Abbeville, AL – A routine traffic stop turned into a major drug seizure in Henry County on the evening of Tuesday, November 26, authorities said. Deputies from the Henry County Task Force and the S.P.A.D.E. Unit pulled over a vehicle along Ozark Road around 6:54 p.m. for a traffic violation, only to uncover a cache of illegal substances.
Drugs and Currency Recovered
Officers recovered multiple controlled substances, including:
- 6 grams of methamphetamine
- 9 grams of cocaine
- 33 grams of synthetic marijuana
- 33 grams of marijuana
- 3 grams of THC wax
- U.S. currency
The seizure underscores law enforcement’s ongoing efforts to combat drug distribution in the area, as per the records.
Arrest and Charges
The driver, Willie Carter Jr., 42, of Abbeville, was arrested at the scene and charged with multiple offenses:
- Possession with Intent to Distribute (Cocaine)
- Three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine, synthetic marijuana, THC wax)
- Possession of Marijuana First Degree
Carter was booked into the Henry County Jail with no bond.
Search Warrant Executed
Following the arrest, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant at an apartment on Girard Court. Authorities noted that the case remains open, and additional arrests or charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
