Tomball, Texas — A chaotic Thanksgiving Day incident in Tomball led to the arrest of two suspects, including a 14-year-old, after authorities say they caused a wrong-way crash and then fled the scene on foot. The crash occurred around 12:00 p.m. near the 8900 block of W. New Harmony Drive, according to law enforcement officials.
Suspects Flee on Foot After Crash
Constable Mark Herman reported that deputies with Precinct 4 were dispatched to the scene shortly after the collision. When officers arrived, they discovered that the individuals inside the vehicle responsible for the wrong-way crash had abandoned the wrecked car and taken off running through the neighborhood.
Authorities confirmed that both suspects — one of them just 14 years old — attempted to evade responsibility by escaping the scene instead of waiting for law enforcement or emergency responders.
K9 Unit Tracks and Captures Fleeing Pair
The search quickly intensified when Deputy K9 Rambo, a highly trained tracking dog, was brought in to assist. Officials said K9 Rambo picked up the suspects’ scent and led deputies to the area of Woodline, where the two were ultimately located and taken into custody without further incident.
Constable Herman praised the efficiency of the K9 team, noting that without the dog’s assistance, the suspects may have remained at large longer, as per the reports.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects or additional details regarding potential charges. It is also unclear whether anyone was injured in the wrong-way collision.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that fleeing the scene of a crash — especially one involving reckless driving — can result in serious criminal consequences, even for juveniles.
As the investigation continues, deputies urge all drivers to practice caution, particularly during busy holiday periods when road activity and risks often increase.
