Hampton, New Hampshire – A 20-year-old Maine man, Thomas Leonard of Portland, is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle before crashing in Hampton, New Hampshire. Authorities say the incident began when Leonard was spotted driving erratically along Interstate 95.
When a state trooper attempted to pull him over, Leonard reportedly fled the scene, prompting a pursuit. During the chase, he drove over a tire deflation device, and as he attempted to exit the highway, he lost control at the bottom of an off-ramp, driving over a traffic island and striking a traffic sign.
K-9 Tracks Suspect After Crash
After crashing, Leonard ran into the parking lot of a nearby business, where troopers deployed a K-9 unit to track and apprehend him. Police later confirmed that the vehicle he had been driving was stolen in Saco, Maine.
