Orange County, VA – A 17-year-old boy tragically lost his life early Sunday morning after a police pursuit ended in a deadly crash in Orange County, Virginia.
Fatal Crash During Police Chase
According to Virginia State Police, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Route 20 near Woodside Road. Officers from the Town of Orange Police Department were pursuing a 2014 Nissan Altima when the vehicle went off the roadway.
The car reportedly struck a ditch, a mailbox, and two trees before becoming airborne and hitting another mailbox. The teenage driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the teen’s name.
Investigation Underway
The crash remains under active investigation by the Virginia State Police. Officials have not provided details on why the vehicle was being pursued, and no additional injuries have been reported.
