Chicago, IL – A 45-year-old man tragically lost his life on Monday afternoon following a hit-and-run crash on Chicago’s South Side, authorities reported. The incident occurred in the 11700 block of S. Marshfield Avenue in the Morgan Park neighborhood.
Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident
According to the Chicago Police Department (CPD), officers responded to the scene around 4:48 p.m. After preliminary investigation, police stated that a van driven by an unknown suspect struck the victim while traveling southbound on Marshfield Avenue. Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene, as per Fox32.
Victim Dies at the Scene
Tragically, the victim died at the scene. Authorities have not released his identity pending notification of family members. At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
