Las Vegas, Nevada – A masked gunman armed with an AR-style rifle stormed the main cashier’s cage at Rampart Casino near Summerlin Parkway on Thursday, November 13, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).
The suspect, dressed in tactical-style gear, demanded cash from an employee before fleeing through the casino’s parking garage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Metro detectives later released surveillance images of the suspect as they canvassed the casino and surrounding areas for leads. Authorities described the suspect as an unknown-race male wearing a ballistic helmet, blue sunglasses, a black facemask, and a blue-and-yellow jacket.
Details of the Robbery
According to LVMPD, the robbery occurred around 10:29 p.m. on the 200 block of North Rampart Boulevard. The suspect reportedly entered the casino via the parking garage, approached the main cage, and brandished an AR-style rifle while demanding money.
The employee complied, and the suspect escaped the same way he entered, disappearing back into the Summerlin garage before officers arrived. Detectives are urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or his distinctive gear to come forward with information.
Metro’s Immediate Response
Following the robbery, LVMPD officers secured the area and deployed a helicopter to assist in establishing a perimeter. Detectives reviewed surveillance footage, canvassed nearby businesses, and went door to door in search of clues. Despite the swift response, authorities noted that the suspect may have evaded capture before officers could reach the scene.
