West Babylon, N.Y. — A 15-year-old boy was tragically stabbed to death late Monday night during a chaotic house party on Long Island, leading to the arrest of a 70-year-old homeowner accused of allowing her grandchild to host the event, authorities said.
Teen Killed During Late-Night Brawl
The victim, identified as Liam Delemo, 15, was stabbed around 10:25 p.m. outside a private residence on Carlton Road in West Babylon, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
Investigators said a fight erupted among a crowd of nearly 90 to 100 teenagers attending the party. During the altercation, Delemo was fatally injured.
Emergency responders rushed the teen to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, where he was later pronounced dead.
Homeowner Charged for Allowing Party
Police said the homeowner, Bonnie Miranda, 70, was arrested and charged under Suffolk County’s Social Host Law for allowing her grandchild to host the out-of-control party at her residence.
In addition to the Social Host Law violation, Miranda also faces a charge of endangering the welfare of a child, referring to the deceased teen, according to authorities.
The Social Host Law in Suffolk County holds adults accountable for permitting minors to consume alcohol or host large gatherings that pose public safety risks.
Police Investigation Ongoing
As of Tuesday evening, no arrests had been made in connection to the stabbing. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fight and are working to identify those involved.
The Suffolk County Homicide Squad is urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

Community Shocked by Teen’s Death
Neighbors expressed disbelief over the fatal stabbing in their normally quiet West Babylon neighborhood. One local resident said they saw flashing police lights and ambulances flooding the street late Monday night but never imagined the situation would turn deadly.
The tragic death of Liam Delemo has sparked renewed discussion about teen safety, unsupervised gatherings, and adult responsibility in monitoring large-scale house parties.
What do you think about Suffolk County’s Social Host Law and the charges filed against the homeowner? Should adults face legal consequences for parties held under their roof?
