Glassboro, NJ — A late-night brawl at a Domino’s Pizza in Glassboro spiraled into chaos early Saturday when two men allegedly threw a chair at a police officer, striking him in the back of the head during an attempted arrest. The violent incident, which took place just before 3 a.m., was captured on surveillance video showing customers screaming, climbing on tables, and recording the fight on their phones.
Fight Breaks Out Inside Domino’s
According to the Glassboro Police Department, officers were called to the Domino’s on North Main Street around 2:44 a.m. following reports of a large fight inside the restaurant. Witnesses described the scene as “pandemonium,” with multiple individuals involved in the melee.
“At approximately 2:44 a.m. this morning, officers responded to Domino’s Pizza for a large fight that erupted inside the store,” the department said in a statement.
When officers arrived, they attempted to make several arrests, but the situation escalated when two male suspects — one wearing a gray jacket and another in a light blue sweatshirt — allegedly grabbed a red chair and hurled it at an officer, striking him in the head.
“While officers were making multiple arrests, two males picked up a chair and threw it at our officers, striking one of them in the back of the head,” police said. “Not only was this intentional, they found it extremely hysterical while they ran from the scene.”
Surveillance Video Shows the Chaos
Surveillance footage released by police shows several people wearing Halloween accessories, standing on tables and shouting as tensions escalated. At one point, two men can be seen throwing a red chair out of frame while others recorded the incident on their phones.
According to FOX News, bystanders scattered moments after the chair was thrown, leaving the restaurant in disarray. The injured officer was treated at the scene and is expected to recover.
The suspects fled immediately after the assault, appearing, as police described, “extremely hysterical” as they ran from the scene.
Police Seek Public’s Help in Identifying Suspects
Authorities have since released still images of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them. Investigators say both men were seen laughing after the assault before running toward nearby parking areas.
“We need your help in identifying them,” Glassboro police said. “Anyone with information is urged to contact us immediately.”
