Waterbury, CT – Two men from Waterbury were taken into custody after police uncovered a major stash of fentanyl, cocaine, crack, and heroin during a large-scale drug bust on October 23. The operation was the result of a coordinated effort between multiple law enforcement agencies.
Police Execute Search Warrant on Bronson Street
According to the Waterbury Police Department, members of the Gang Task Force, Vice and Intelligence Unit (V&I), Auto Theft Task Force (ATF), and Connecticut State Police Violent Crimes Task Force (SPVCTF) executed a search warrant at a residence located on Bronson Street.
Authorities said the raid was part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking operations in the area. During the search, officers discovered a large amount of narcotics and other evidence suggesting a fully functioning drug distribution setup, as per WTNH.
Large Quantity of Narcotics Seized
The search led to the seizure of several types of illegal substances and items linked to drug distribution, including:
- 32.4 grams of crack cocaine
- 17.8 grams of powder cocaine
- 10 bags of heroin
- 259.9 grams of fentanyl
- $661 in cash
- Firearm ammunition
Police noted that the amount of fentanyl seized — nearly 260 grams — could potentially lead to thousands of lethal doses.
Two Waterbury Men Face Serious Drug Charges
Following the search, officers arrested Luis Vizcaino, 52, and Luis Martinez, 49, both residents of Waterbury, Connecticut.
Vizcaino faces several charges, including:
- Illegal operation of a drug factory
- Possession of narcotics (1 ounce or more of fentanyl)
- Possession of narcotics (half an ounce or more of cocaine)
- Two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Martinez faces similar charges, along with additional firearms-related offenses:
- Illegal operation of a drug factory
- Criminal possession of a firearm or ammunition
- Possession of narcotics (1 ounce or more of fentanyl)
- Possession of narcotics (half an ounce or more of cocaine)
- Two counts of possession of narcotics with intent to sell
Authorities Praise Multi-Agency Collaboration
Officials said the success of the operation was due to seamless teamwork among local and state law enforcement agencies. The Waterbury Police Department credited the coordinated effort for helping to dismantle a significant portion of the area’s narcotics trade.

The case remains under investigation as police continue to track the source of the narcotics and any potential connections to larger trafficking networks. Both suspects are expected to appear in court soon to face their respective charges.
